Posted by MiniGPX Archives | M1GP, MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS, Motard, Pocketbike, SCMiniGP, United States | Thursday 12 March 2009 4:11 pm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SCminiGP Extends Support for CMRRA Riders.

In regards the post on minigpx.com and roadracingworld.com we would like to formally thank Al Lyons for all his service to the mini moto community and to say that we are very sorry to hear about the close of CMRRA. CMRRA offered 16 years of racing and helped many youth riders get their start in today’s road racing community and we respect their organization with great regards.

On behalf of the announcement made we would like to let the riders of CMRRA know that we hope to offer them a place where they can continue to enjoy the sport they love. In doing so and in reflection of this years economic times we understand that money is tight, therefore, in respect to CMRRA’s commitment to the community SCminiGP will honor all CMRRA membership for the 2009 SCminiGP Championship series.

In addition, we would like to offer those riders a chance to join us at our next 2 events for a $50 flat club to club rate for practice and unlimited class racing. If your bike does not fit in one of our classes we encourage you to come out so we can determine how to adapt our current environment to continue to give CMRRA members a place to ride.

If you have any questions, please contact Steven Zabzdyr at steven@scminigp.com or 805.890.9847

After 16 years of promoting Mini Road Racing, the California Motorcycle Road Racing Association is shutting down.

Over the years CMRRA has had satisfaction of watching numerous young riders that started with CMRRA and successfully moved into the pro ranks such as, John Hopkins, Josh Herrin, Chris Ulrich, Tommy Aquino, Michael Beck, Benny Solis and more.

Our heartfelt thanks to all the riders and their families that have supported us over the years.
