Tdub has a new business name but same great services

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS, United States | Thursday 27 November 2008 8:44 pm

After operating under the FastForwardRacing banner for over 15 years, due to a bad business decision on my part I no longer have access to the name. This does not however mean I am not available for services.

I have taken up residence at a small local shop that will allow me to continue to offer my rebuild services. The only service I will not be able to provide will be RS crank rebuilds but my rod source has appeared to have dried up anyway.

My new contact # is…

270.302.6467

Looking forward to seeing you all next season with a new (for me) rider!

Thanks Tdub

2009 AMRA Indoor Championship Series

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | AMRA, Canada, MiniGPX-NEWS, Motard | Thursday 27 November 2008 4:04 pm

The 2009 Canadian National Indoor Mini RoadRacing Championship Series will take place over two consecutive weekends: Round #1 in Calgary, Alberta January 9-11 and Round #2 in Edmonton, Alberta January 16-18, 2009. This unique Indoor Series hosted by the Alberta Mini RoadRacing Association (AMRA) features athletes from 7 years of age to 56, male and female, as they vie for one of three National Titles.

Over two of what maybe the coldest weekends in January, 140 racers from Canada, the United States and Australia will be competing on identically set-up AMRA supplied motorcycles. Over six days fans and enthusiasts can come out and cheer for there favorite racers as they compete in 18 feature races !

Outside of our championship series the AMRA has added a æSuperstar Challenge’ to our 2009 line up. This class is specially designed to thrill the fans as most of the top Canadian Superbike Racers challenge each other on the polished cement indoor race tracks. We are pleased to share that the following racers have confirmed there intent to compete in this challenge: Jordon Szoke, Clint McBain, Brett McCormick, Steve Crevier, Don Munroe, Darren James and Dave Estok.

For the 2008 Series Darrel MacRae of Calgary Alberta, the oldest registered competitor, triumphed, earning the #1 Canadian National Indoor Mini Roadracing Series Open Main Title. MacRae, at 57 years of age, will be back to defend his 2008 title against all challengers. Who will the next champion? In 2007 it was then 15 year old Brett McCormick from Saskatoon. This year will be it be young Bodhi Edie from McCormicks’ home track, will the older MacRae be dethroned by his nephew JR MacRae, or will former 7 time Canadian Superbike Champion Don Munroe dominate the track?

Be sure to check out the excitement of head to head indoor competition at the 2009 Calgary and Edmonton Motorcycle Shows.

NSR50: How long can you let it go?

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS | Tuesday 18 November 2008 2:07 am

Not too long ago I did the miles calculation for Peter Lenz’s 2004 NSR50 and figured it was about time to do a top end on the bike. We had exceeded the mileage limits by a couple factors, not to mention that the performance was obviously not there anymore. Peter had a chance to ride another NSR and didn’t want to get back on his.

I had put rings in it once, but other than changing the oil every other weekend or so, I hadn’t done a thing to the bike other than put on a couple sets of tires, put a new RK Chain on it and change the gearing we got from Vortex Racing. Considering the number of races Peter ran on the bike the last three years and his overall results it was time to give something back to the bike.

Well after Brian Ens and I cracked the motor it was pretty apparent that I may have let it go a bit too long. I don’t have much to say other than … the kid did pretty good doing as well as he did on the bike with such a great motor.
