Industry responds to Chinese knock offs of Pit Bull race stands

In cased you missed it here:

You can really see it here:

As an industry and a community we should not allow “manufactures” to blatantly steal other companies ideas and then prosper from it. Charlie VanValkenburgh and Pit Bull (~http://pit-bull.com~) represents the very core of our sport. A racer who loved the sport so much that he quit his career as a rocket scientist to fill a void that the racing community needed….A race stand that held up to the riggers of real use. He built his company making the best products he could and then supporting his customers the best way he knows how. From that humble beginning he has grown his company to include more products like dampers, spools and tire tree’s. All of the Pit Bull products carry the same incredibly high level of quality, durability, and engineering. The best part….Charlie and Pit Bull still offer the same customer service that they did in the beginning and even more racer support..

This incredible supporter our sport is getting ripped off in front our very eyes and we as a community are letting it happen. I am asking that all of us step up and defend the supporters, creators, and innovators in this sport by not letting the copy cat companies prosper. I am asking that as members of this wonderful community of motorcycle roadracers that we support the companies that support us. We support the companies that create better products for us to use. Buy the original, buy the product from the guy who actually designed it and built with his own two hands instead of the guy who bought a product and then shipped it to China to be copied and made cheaper.

Competition is good, it is what this sport is based on and it improves the products we use. Imports are good, it keeps pricing realistic in an already ultra expensive sport. Blatant theft of ideas and design is bad and if we let it happen it will eventually ruin our sport.

I believe in Pit Bulls products and I believe they are worth every penny that Pit Bull charges. They are made in the USA by US workers and a good portion of the money that Charlie makes on the stuff he sells he give back to racers in the form of contingency.

In an effort to do our part in helping Pit Bull, KWS Motorsports will match the other companies price on it’s blatant copy of Pit Bulls Tire Tree’s. Of course I would encourage you to buy the product straight from Pit Bull at retail, but if we can do our small part in keeping people from buying copy cat products based purely on price the this what we will do. I don’t know how long we can afford to do it and I don’t know how long we will need to do it, but this is what we are going to do.

Thank you all for loving this sport as much as I do and please do what’s right.

Stockton Mini Road Race Club announces 2007 race schedule

Going on its 4th year of organized competition, Northern California’s premiere minibike racing club (SMRRC) is proud to announce its 2007 racing season schedule. “With several all new classes, our family oriented club is sure to please ages and skill levels of all types,” says club director Matt Myers. “From full size Supermoto bikes to Pocketbikes there’s a class for just about everyone with just about any bike.”

The club’s exciting new NSR50 Cup class will pit riders of this purpose-built mini road racer against one another for some great season-ending championship prizes. The SMRRC prides itself as being known for providing a safe, well-run organization that really promotes learning the skills of road racing, especially for junior riders. “Our restructured ‘Junior Stars’ class, intended for ages 5 to 10, is designed to take our younger racers to the next level as they cross over from our pocketbike classes to the larger 12-inch-wheeled bikes.” said Myers. “No matter how old or young, Expert or Novice, the SMMRC will have you grinning from ear-to-ear once you experience the fun and thrills of mini road racing.”

The SMRRC is gaining a reputation for being the local breeding ground for some of the country’s fastest up-and-coming road racers, like 16-year-old AFM 600cc Champion Bobby Fong, Redbull Rookie Cameron Beaubier and fast female phenom Elena Myers, who all cut their racing teeth racing with the SMRRC.

All races are held on Sunday at the Stockton Motorplex Park located in Stockton, California.

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS, Motard, Pocketbike, USMGP, United States | Sunday 17 December 2006 9:10 pm

2007 USMGP News

Well it is the off season and just to keep everyone updated on what is and has been going on. We have some great things in store for all of you for 2007! First we will be dividing the 2007 Series up into two series.

The USMGP West Coast Series will feature around 3-4 events at some great facilities. This organization will be run by Rich Santos as West Coast Race Manager and the Race Director will be Trevis Picardo. As all of you could see at the Las Vegas event they learned fast what it takes to run and event and they did a great job!

The tracks we are working with on the west coast are as listed below although no dates are finalized as of this date:

Stockton July 27th, 28th & 29th

Bondurant TBD

Miller Motorsports Park TBD

Las Vegas Motor Speedway TBD

McMinnville, Oregon TBD

Austin, Texas TBD

and a couple more that will be named later. Now we will not run at all of these tracks but will pick some that will hopefully be challenging for all of you.

East Coast:

Dates that are set:

Fremont Raceway Park: May 18th,19th & 20th

Subject to change

Virginia International Raceway: June 1st,2nd & 3rd

BeaveRun National Finals: October 5th-7th

Starke: TBD

This race will bring the best from the West Coast and East Coast Champions together to see who is really the best rider. Yes, there will be East Coast and West Coast Champions this year and also National Champions , so get those bikes ready to take on the best available riders.

Also, as some may have noticed we will be offering a full array of Motard classes and some YSR/NSR based classes to allow you to ride some other machinery if you have it. But know this our series will still feature the pocketbikes because that is where we all started and that is where msot of the kids who are the heart of our sport have and will start! So if you can pick up a Motard or YSR check the rules and class structures and come on out and join us for a great 2007 season.

USMGP Mid-Ohio Event –

We have been asked to come back to Mid Ohio again! So we will add this event into our schedule with the same setup as last year with big bonuses for the riders who come to this event. Those details will be released as soon as I get all the info from Mid-Ohio. This event will be held during the AMA Superbike Finals at Mid-Ohio. The AMA Superbike Shootout is scheduled for September 28-30!

At the last event there we received per rider: Two full weekend passes including pit passes for the whole weekend Friday-through Sunday to watch all the racing we wanted and got alot of track time in. Also, I am working on getting us a ride around the big track on our bikes. We will also be allowing the Motards and YSR/NSR folks to participate in this event. We had so much track time last time it was unbelievable! Keep an eye out for more news to come on this event!

Chuck Shorie

USMGP President

This could be a great time to take a family vacation folks! Think about it, You come to Mid-Ohio and enjoy riding there and enjoy the perks and the Superbike finals and then go to The USMGP Beaverun National finals the next weekend! Could be a great family trip and believe me it would be well worth it to make a vacation of it and you could even take the kids to Cedar Point(Not far away) during the week.

SCminiGP offers introductory courses to minigp racing

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS, Pocketbike, SCMiniGP, United States | Sunday 17 December 2006 3:39 pm

SCminiGP has schedule a total of 10 youth introductory courses for the 2007 year. In 2006 the organization hosted just five dates which introduced the sport of miniGP to over 20 youth under the age of 10 years old. This year they are hoping to open the doors to more than 90 youth riders.

The intro course program put together by SCminiGP is designed to help get new youth riders into the sport of youth road racing (minigp). The course is a 2 hour training session where instructors teach youth how to ride a pocketbike covering the controls of the bike, and slowly through drills, helping children learn to ride. The program only allows three kids to a class with two instructors to guide them through the process and only runs three times a day.

If you’re wondering how you can get your child into miniGP you’ll be glad to know SCminiGP even provides the bikes complements of Omicron Motors/Blata USA. This season SCminiGP will use the new Blata 2.6 pocketbike. Blata USA also sponsor’s the Blata CUP race class which they feel will help introduce more youth into road racing. SCminiGP knows this is a good way for interested prospects to test drive the program. This course allows family’s a chance to see how SCminiGP works with the youth environment and how dedicated they are to helping youth succeed.

SCminiGP also plans to offer a camp for Novice riders this summer as an extension of their introductory program. So if you’re concerned about your child’s success they have the resources to help them succeed.

Hopper coaches Vision in the valley

Posted by MiniGPX Archives | M1GP, MiniGP, MiniGPX-NEWS, United States | Tuesday 12 December 2006 1:03 pm

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP rider John Hopkins was at Grange’ Motor Circuit in Apple Valley, CA for a private session giving some one on one instruction to “Hopper Racing” sponsored 7 year old Vision Hayes. This was Hopkins first time back on a Yamaha YSR50 in over 9 years. It didn’t take long for the past CMRRA multi class champion to get back up to speed on the little YSR50 and NSR50 bikes, but he to work hard to stay in front of Hayes. During the day Hopkins would ride behind Vision watching him around the track, then have Vision watch him. Hayes said he could have passed anytime but wanted to learn some new lines and racing skills.

According to the Hopper, Vision has a lot of talent and potential and reminded him of himself when he was young.

Vision Hayes is also sponsored by CMRRA, AlpineStars, Galfer Brakes, Top Oil Products, AirTech, Bike World Motorsports and Fremont Honda/Kawasaki.
